Birding, Botanizing, Paddling, Hiking, Biking and much more. Family events and a special evening with David Phillips, Senior Climatologist of Environment Canada.

Now in its 8th year, the Festival is a great opportunity to explore nature close to home.  Just 30 minutes from Orillia, Ontario and 50 minutes from Lindsay, Ontario, the Festival is open to nature lovers of all ages. This area is familiar to many naturalists across Ontario for its variety of bird species and has been designated by Birdlife International as an “Important Bird Area.”

Events: There are many new and returning events this year led by our group of enthusiastic, experienced experts. Topics range from reptiles, birding and paddling to insects, ferns and GPS usage. There is lots to choose from!

Register: This year we are offering Festival Passes, which gives you access to at least three events over the weekend. This means that you don’t have to pay for individual events which makes registering easy and quick. So, take a look at the List of Activities, make your selections and then Register for the Festival! If you have any questions about registering, please phone: 705-323-2339.

New this year is the Family Fun Fest. Taking place all day Saturday, June 7th, it’s a great opportunity to get your family out and enjoy nature. There will be hay rides, bird house building, interactive exhibits on animals and much more. There will also be live music, vendors, good food and displays in the Recreation Centre.

A very special thank you to the Carden Nature Festival Planning Committee.
