About

Tree Swallow by Andrea WardNow in its 9th year, the Festival is a great opportunity to explore nature close to home. Just 30 minutes from Orillia, Ontario and 50 minutes from Lindsay, Ontario, the Carden Nature Festival is open to nature lovers of all ages. This area is familiar to many naturalists across Ontario for its variety of bird species and has been designated by Birdlife International as an “Important Bird Area.”

Events: There are many new and returning events this year led by our group of enthusiastic, experienced experts. Topics range from reptiles, birding and paddling to insects, ferns and GPS usage. There is lots to choose from!

Register: Pick your Festival Pass, which gives you access to at least three events over the weekend. This means that you don’t have to pay for individual events which makes registering easy and quick. So, take a look at the List of Activities, make your selections and then Register for the Festival! If you have any questions about registering, please phone: 705-326-1620.

Back for the second year is the Family Fun Fest. Taking place all day Saturday, June 6th, it’s a great opportunity to get your family out and enjoy nature. There will be a variety of activities at the Carden Recreation Centre – stay tuned for more information.

Festival Committee

Our Festival Committee works hard throughout the year to plan the Festival. The majority of the committee are volunteers and they organize the events, plan the meals, find workshop leaders and much, much more. Our thanks for all of their work!
